Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Parably is a Bible reading, study and quiz app, made by Joseph LaCombe / Parably LLC (“we,” “us,” “Parably”). By using the app or parably.app (together, the “Service”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
The Service
Parably provides Bible reading plans, audio, quizzes, study tools, and — for some churches and groups — live, teacher-led Bible studies over video call. Some features work without an account; saving progress, notes, and joining a live study roster need one.
Accounts
You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Give us an accurate email if one is required, and tell us (support@parably.app) if you think someone else has access to your account. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account.
Live Bible studies
Live studies are scheduled and taught by approved teachers, hosted on a third-party video platform (currently Zoom). Saving a spot is not a guarantee of a seat if a study fills up. Every live study call is recorded and kept as a safety record, whether or not it is ever posted for listening. You’re told before you join, and your attendance may appear in the recording. For studies marked “all ages,” recording is the stated safeguard in place of requiring a second adult host.
Be respectful of the teacher and other attendees. We can remove access to a study, or to the Service generally, for behavior that’s abusive, disruptive, or unsafe.
Text message reminders
If you opt in on a signup form (for example at parably.app/biblestudy), we’ll text you a reminder before each study you’ve registered for — about one message a week. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to a text to stop receiving them, or HELP for help. Consent to receive texts is never a condition of using any other part of the Service. Carriers aren’t liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your content
Notes, highlights, tags, and studies you write stay yours. You’re responsible for what you write, and we ask that it stay on-topic and respectful — this isn’t a public forum, but content that’s abusive or that violates someone else’s rights can be removed.
Scripture text
Parably uses the King James Version and the Berean Standard Bible (both public domain) and the NET Bible, used by permission — see the Privacy Policy for the full copyright notice.
No warranty
The Service is provided “as is.” We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. Nothing in the Service is a substitute for pastoral counsel, legal advice, or emergency services.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, Parably LLC isn’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing here limits liability that can’t be limited under applicable law.
Children
Parably is rated for all ages and contains no objectionable content. Live studies are family-friendly, and any study open to minors carries the recording safeguard described above.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the Service changes. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
